Personalization - Monograms

Monograms - $6.95

Monograms consist of three letters and are available in circle, interlocking, diamond and roman shapes. Typically, the first initial of the last name is placed in the center of the monogram (making it larger) with the first initial of the first name to the left and the first initial of the middle name to the right. For example John Alan Smith would appear as JSA. Only letters are allowed; no numbers can be used.

When engraving a couple's monogram for a wedding, anniversary, etc., the first initial of the couple's last name should appear in the center, with first initial of the woman's first name to the left and first initial of the man's first name to the right. So John Smith and Michelle Smith would appear as MSJ.

Using a method that is centuries-old, skilled technician’s hot-drop forge our scissors and shears from high carbon cutlery steel. Key grinding and polishing operations are still performed by hand to ensure a flawless appearance and sharp cutting all the way to the point of the scissor. The blades, points and tension of each scissor are then “tuned” by hand to ensure the same high performance and longevity in every pair. By the time our scissors leave our factory in Greensboro, North Carolina; they have been touched more than fifty times by our own craftspeople. It is for this reason we can truly say, "from our hands to yours."

For left-handed users, Gingher’s 8 inch Dressmaker’s Shears have a versatile longer length cut with blades strong enough to cut multiple layers of fabric, patterns and trim seams. The precision ground knife edge cuts flawlessly, and the bent handle allows for smooth, comfortable cutting across any flat surface. These scissors have a handsome double-plated chrome over nickel finish and include a collectible tin, and fitted sheath for storage.
